Abstract
Refugee protection is currently in a situation of crisis as many global North countries increasingly place barriers in the path of asylum. Inviting the world-renowned Oxford Professor, Matthew Gibney, this symposium tackles the fundamental question from ethical, political, legal, and practical viewpoints, of why wealthy states like Japan and the UK have a responsibility to protect refugees.
