ABSTRACT: By analyzing the difference between "anzen (safety)" and "anshin (angstless-ness)", which are often hyphenated by political leaders in the time of disasters, this lecture given by a luminary of philosophy of science and safety studies will enhance our critical thinking which is vital in any disastrous situation.
