NEWOpen Lecture (2/18): Communicating Artificial Intelligence

ABSTRACT: Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and decision systems need data. Unfortunately, many datasets are a result of surreptitious data collection that can have negative implications for the results of these systems. This talk examines surveillance and surreptitious data collection and its implications for AI and decision systems. In addition, this talk examines the role of communication and media in artificial intelligence and the policies being developed surrounding this emerging technology.
