『真の国際人ー個性と多様性をつなぐ対話に向けて』

国際人というと、国連職員や外交官、あるいは英語が話せる、というイメージが一般的かもしれません。しかし、国際人というのは特別な人にだけ与えられている称号ではありません。本シンポジウムでは、これまで一般的に語られてきた華やかな国際人という印象に挑戦する形で、真の国際人とは何か、その本質に迫ります。現代社会には人びとを分断するさまざまな壁が存在します。それは物理的な国境だけでなく、人びとが自ら作り出す社会的なカテゴリーや規範といった壁を含みます。がん哲学外来の創始者であり、医師と患者という壁を超えて、限られた人生にいかに向き合うか、というテーマを共に対話で考えて来られた樋野先生を基調講演者としてお招きし、続くパネル・ディスカッションでは、障がい、ジェンダー、学歴、南北問題など、さまざまな「壁」に取り組んでいる方々と対話します。

ゲストスピーカー: 樋野興夫（順天堂大学名誉教授・恵泉女学園理事長）
Being a doctor and researcher in pathology, he has innovatively explored new therapy called cancer philosophy therapy in which he creates dialogues with cancer patients on not just medical issues, but more of how to reflect on and enjoy life regardless of various boundaries, be it socio-economic status, nationality, age, or gender. He is also a leading figure in Japanese higher education as a Christian and serves as the Chair of Board of Trustees at Keisen University as well as Board member of Tokyo Woman's Christian University and promotes internationality for character building based on Inazo Nitobe's philosophy.
