Abstract:
At a time of great turmoil across the globe, this presentation tells the story of humanity’s progress toward mitigating the root causes of war during the last 200 years. It focuses on how the dominant hypermasculine leadership culture functions as a source of backlash to that progress and contends that elevating the feminine aspects of humanity in how leadership is defined and enacted is vital to building a more peaceful world.
Dr. Roya Akhavan is currently a Research Fellow at the ICU Peace Research Institute, with an award-winning background as a professor and executive in academic and corporate settings and widely cited research published in top international journals. She is a frequent speaker at international forums on peace, gender equality, and spirituality in the 21st century. Her recent work includes two books, Peace for Our Planet: A New Approach (2017), and The Trumpet Blast: Removing the Veil from the Advent of the Promised One (2022).
We look forward to seeing you there!
