(On the Monographs and Manner Culture in Japan, China, and Korea)
(Since there are common components in the cultural foundations of Japan, China, and Korea, they are said to belong to the cultural sphere of Chinese characters or Confucianism. Although they are said to belong to the same cultural sphere of Chinese characters, same Chinese characters or compound words produce different meanings because of regional differences. This is what is referred to as the homograph problem.
On the other hand, we have always known that Japan, China, and Korea have the common foundations of Confucian thought. we tend to overlook the differences in each other’s manners. That is why studies on these two problems should be the subjects of joint research for scholars from Japan, China, and Korea.)
