The talk will discuss Robert Bellah's engagement with Japanese thinkers such as Watsuji Tetsurō, in formulating his ideas about communitarianism and his critique of Western liberal modernity.
(西洋型自由主義的近代化に対する批判としてロバート・ベラーが"communitarianism" の概念を構築する上で、和辻哲郎ら日本人の思想家の与えた影響について講演される予定である。)
