This seminar will explore the UK context of LGBTIQ+ asylum, drawing on findings from a creative, participatory research project. We will explore artworks produced by LGBTIQ+ asylum seekers as a means of expressing their experiences, identities, and aspirations. The seminar will also consider the role of faith and spirituality in their journeys, offering a critical lens on how homosecular assumptions shape asylum narratives and policies.
