What is Fuwa Café?
Fuwa Café is a space to casually (“fuwa”) share thoughts about gender and sexuality in a safer environment. Anyone who can respect the ground rules is welcome, regardless of university affiliation, gender, or sexuality. (Faculty members do not participate, in order to avoid power dynamics.)

Fuwa Café Ground Rules

  • Only one person speaks at a time, and only on one topic.
  • It’s okay to just listen.
  • Remember that your assumptions are not necessarily others’ assumptions.
  • Try to speak from your own experience rather than academic knowledge.
  • Do not judge others’ comments as “good” or “bad.”
  • Do not share outside what you hear or see here.
