What's a university student 'supposed' to look like? Are "glow ups" romanticized? Is makeup really necessary?

Let’s have a relaxed chat over some snacks and tea about what it means to “look like a university student” — a topic that’s closely tied to gender and sexuality.

With the new semester underway, it’s also a great time to drop by the Center of Gender Studies, where you'll find a variety of useful resources!

Date & Time: June 6th (Thu) 12:50-14:50

No reservation necessary. Free entry. (We welcome donations to keep our center running!)

Coming in the middle or leaving early are both OK.

Both English or Japanese are OK (unfortunately, we are unable to provide simultaneous translation, but we will try our best to accommodate translation needs).

Venue: CGS@ERB-I 301

The building next to the main hall, directly in front of the library.

It’s the corner room on the third floor with a rainbow flag displayed in the window.

Subject: What's a university student 'supposed' to look like?

Have some tea/coffee and snacks as we talk about gender and sexuality in a relaxed atmosphere. Topics we've discussed before:

"I might be attracted to people of the same sex as me,"

" I might be attracted to both men and women,"

" I have no interest in romance,"

" I want to be seen as a woman/man,"

" I don't feel comfortable in my body"

" I don't want others to determine my gender for me,"

" I don't want to put a label on my sexual identity."

If you have anything else you want to discuss, please feel free to bring it up.

We look forward to seeing you!
