Culture
Program
The aim of the culture program is to provide a diverse set
of cultural contexts from which participating students can
develop their understanding of the language, culture and
people of Japan. The culture program includes a lecture
series, on-campus activities, and a number of short trips
off-campus to, for example, the National Kabuki Theater, a
local elementary school and a pottery workshop. By
experiencing such cultural activities and attending the
lectures students are encouraged to consider Japanese
culture and society in the context of their learning
curriculum and everyday life. All culture program
activities are scheduled in the afternoon (some un-official
trips are on weekends). For some events there is an
additional charge. Culture Program (CP) 2010 schedule has
not yet been finalized. For your reference, the followings
are the events and activities from 2009.
