The International Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy is a referred journal developed to the academic and scholarly discussion of the developing fields of counseling and psychotherapy, especially in the Pacific Rim Region. The International Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy is the official and flagship publication of the International Christian University (ICU) Institute for Advanced Studies of Clinical Psychology founded in 2001.

The International Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy is a broadly focused, cross-cultural vehicle for contributing to the wider debate about the future of counseling and psychotherapy, reflecting the dialogue within the Pacific Rim region and the wider world. The journal covers all aspects of counseling and psychotherapy, including its aims, history, institutions, and the application of theories of counseling and psychotherapy to a wide range of discipline such as education, psychiatry, psychoanalysis, politics, history, anthropology, international affairs, cultural studies, film and drama, literature, art, gender studies, social science, philosophy, and all aspects of human growth and creativity. The special focus of the journal is on counseling and psychotherapy with adolescents who represent our hope for a future world.
