’07 ARI Retreat

I would like to report our coming back from 4 days of ARI (Asian Rural Institute). We are all spending very healthy and meaniful 4 days at Nasu, Tochigi prefecture.

Total 24 people were joining including Rev. Johnosn, Rev. Kitahara, and me. Guo of China took the very last ticket for Nasu. Total 8 fellows were joining this program.

It was quite a cold season. We woke up at 6:15 am for Radio Taiso. This was unique, funny, but very good for health. Anyhow, all JDS fellow was safe without catching a cold. Trang of Vietnam was seemed to be tough. But she was very fine when I met her again on 1 December at ICU campus.

The experiences from ARI camp was very nice ones. All fellows began to think about Rural situation of their countries and probably found lots of things for their countries.

We did all things for daily needs of ARI (cooking, feeding (pigs, hens, and cows), cleaning barns and nests (cows, pigs, hens). JDS fellow have met and became friendly with 13 numbers of undergraduate participants (one was English). It was very nice for JDS fellows.
