The annual welcome reception for the incoming JDS program students was held on July 4th. Professor Hwang met the four new fellows at the party held at the Tokyo International Centre, JICA Tokyo. The students are: Ms. Claire Michelle Grageda Balde and Ms. Millicent Gay Buenaseda Tejada from the Philippines, Ms. Lam Thuay Trang Vo and Mr. Anh Tuan Le from Vietnam. They all showed great interest in the academic life at ICU.
More than 130 students from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Kyrgyztan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Uzbekistan and Vietnam were welcomed. The guests included professors and administrators from 10 host universities in Japan and officers from respective embassies, which totaled more than 80.
