The JDS Committee held a luncheon for returning 07JDS students in the east room of the student dining facility on 11 June. The luncheon began with a prayer led by Professor Mori.

Following the lunch, Professor Tachikawa, Dean of the Graduate School, offered some words of encouragement for the JDS students by speaking about his own study abroad experience. Professor Tachikawa also spoke of his hope that the ICU will become a place where study abroad students will want to return.

After this, one by one all 07JDS students offered their own words of thanks to the university. They expressed how valuable an experience they had in their 2 years at the ICU, and presented some advice to the 08JDS students, who will be here for another year, about how to enjoy life and culture in Japan. Hearing Professor Tachikawa's words, the JDS students also expressed a desire to return to the ICU.

Finally, Professor Hwang, who served to emcee the festivities, closed with words on the expectations there were to see the future activities of the JDS students. It was a very meaningful event with many participants including the JDS students, JDS committee members and JDS students' advisors. With the help of JICE staff member Ms. Matsuda, the female 07JDS students arrived wearing yukata and thus helped to raise a festive atmosphere at the event.
