CHIBA Akihiro (COE Visiting Professor, International Education)

Prof. CHIBA has been professor of international education at the International Christian University (ICU) since 1991. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in education from ICU.
After his graduation, he has served UNESCO for 30 years, and has came to ICU in 1991. His most recent book is "Why Literacy -the reality of underdevelopment countries- (second edition)".

MACHIDA Kennichi (Professor, Education)

Dr. MACHIDA is professor of education at the International Christian University (ICU). He received his B.A. degree in education from the Tokyo Gakugei University, M.A. degree in education from ICU and his Ph.D. dgree in education from the University of California at Riverside.
He teaches courses in Tasks Faced by Education Today. His most recent publication is Kyoukasidou no kangaekata to sono houhou (2000).

Mark W. LANGAGER (Assistant Professor, Comparative Education)

Dr. LANGAGER is Assistant Professor of ICU, Division of Education. He received his B.A. degree from Wasington State University, and his Ed.D. degree from Harvard University.
His most resent publication is "Unity in Diversity: Cultural Pluralism at an Overseas Indonesian School in Tokyo" Educational Studies, Vol.45, pp. 1-11. Tokyo: International Christian University.
