Eligibility

Eligibility

Applicatioin opens in September every year. Applicants will go though screening process for the program starting next September. Applicants must meet the following conditions and requirements:

A. Completion of required number of terms

Undergraduate students must have completed at least three terms at ICU. Graduate students must have completed at least one term at ICU. Study abroad application must be supported by a student’s academic advisor.

  • For transfer students, please consult with the IEE office about his/her eligibility.
  • Students who entered in September 2011 are not allowed to apply for the programs starting in Winter term 2012.

B. Sufficient academic competence and language ability

Students must have sufficient academic competence and language ability in order to accomplish the study abroad program. Specifically, the following requirements must be fulfilled as evidence:

  • Minimum GPA required: 3.0
  • Minimum English Language Required: 79 (iBT) ,550(PBT) /IELTS 6.0 (6.5 is desirable)

-Some institutions require higher GPA or English scores. For details, please refer to the handbook for 2010-2011Exchange/Study Abroad Programs which will be available at the explanatory meeting on September 8, 2009.

C. Compliance with exchange period

Students must complete the designated program period once accepted to a host institution. Upon completion of the program, students must return to ICU to continue their study for his/her degree.

D. Contribution to international exchanges

Students must have interests in cross-cultural experiences as well as their academic majors. Students must also represent ICU well.

E. Health and adaptive capability

Students must be healthy physically and mentally to participate in a study-abroad program. Students must have the capacity to adjust to a new environment.

F. Performance of duties

Students must also perform their duties (attend mandatory orientations, submit required documents and so on) as ICU program participants.

  • Students must meet any requirements assigned both by ICU and by a host institution.
  • As for April students, they are expected to complete all the ELP courses before their departure.
  • Graduate students have to submit the plan of research before their application. Please consult the International Educational Exchange Office for details.
