How to Choose an Appropriate University for You

How to Choose an Appropriate University for You

A. Have a clear objective for your Study Abroad

You should be well prepared and have objectives for study abroad, such as to broaden your academic knowledge, to perform research on the senior thesis, etc. You might fail with just good images of living abroad or an intension to get away from your current cirmcumstances.

B. Find out information about partner universities

You can browse brochures of exchange partner universities and program reports written by the past participants in the Refernce Room at International Educational Exchange. You are also encouraged to seek updated information on each university's websites.

C. Consult your academic advisor and professors in your prospective major areas

You can consult your academic advisor and professors in your prospective field of study abroad. It is better if you pick up few universities before the consultation and ask him/her which one would be most appropriate as your destination.

Remember it is you who make a final decision. Do not just do as you are recommended or think in "anything goes" manner.

D. Ask the past participants or one year regular students at ICU

It would be a great help if you can contact the past participants to the program, or one year regular students from partner universities studying at ICU. First-hand information will give you clearer idea of studying and living in different circumstances. Ask at International Educational Exchange Office for the list of the past participants.
