ロバート　A.ニーメヤー教授は、臨床心理学及び死生学が専門です。
特に喪失学（死別、離別、失業、失恋など人生の大きな喪失についての研究分野）における世界的な第一人者です。
人生で誰もが避けて通れない身近な人との別れ、関係の終焉、勉学や仕事での挫折、それに伴うグリーフ （悲嘆や失意）をどのように乗り越えていくか、セラピストとして臨床現場の豊富なご経験を踏まえた、示唆に富んだお話が伺えることと思います。
ニーメヤー教授は、今秋、学会出席のため来日を予定されていますが、この機会に先生をICUキャンパスにお迎えしICU在校生、卒業生、また広く地域の方々を対象として、講演をしていただくことになりました。
講演は通訳付きです。

Dr. Robert A. Neimeyer is a professor of psychology and thanatology (study of death).
He has conducted extensive research on bereavement, i.e. the loss by death and other major losses, and grief studies.
He is an internationally well-known speaker at workshops and seminars for counselors and lay people.
He teaches how to help others and ourselves in coping with all kinds of losses such as death, separation, job loss, and relationship loss, which are inevitable in the course of life.
Based on his clinical experiences as a psychotherapist, Dr. Neimeyer will show you how we are capable of reconstructing our lives after going through loss if only we had the appropriate knowledge of grief, and how to deal with grief entailed by loss.
On this occasion, we are very pleased to welcome Dr. Neimeyer at ICU during his brief and tight schedule in Japan.
We hope to have as many ICU students as possible at this event, and share this precious occasion also with ICU graduates, and our friends in the neighborhood.
(Please note that English-Japanese interpretation will be available for the lecture.)
