ICU is a private, bilingual liberal arts university with an undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and several graduate programs. ICUfs educational mission is based on Christian and democratic principles. ICU has 3,000 students from Japan and overseas. The university is located on a wooded campus in the suburbs of Tokyo.

ICU has established a new college-wide focus on World-Languages, awaring that cultivation of responsible global citizens is enhanced by language study beyond English and Japanese. World languages at ICU include training in French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, and Korean. ICU invites candidates for a full-time instructorship (three-year contractual appointment) to teach Spanish. The instructor should be able to teach all levels of Spanish language and culture.

Qualifications

1.Masters degree or above in language teaching in Spanish and/or related fields.
2.Proficiency in Japanese and English in addition to Spanish.
3.Teaching experience at the college level.
4. Evidence of scholarly work related to language teaching, linguistics, comparative
literature / culture.
5. An understanding of the democratic and Christian mission of ICU.

Selection process First Round: Documentary screening.
Second Round: Short listed candidates will be invited for an interview and will asked to demonstrate their teaching skills in a class situation.
Notification of decision Applicants will be notified at the earliest opportunity by post.
