International Christian University (ICU) is a private, bilingual liberal arts university with an undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and graduate programs. ICUfs educational mission is based on Christian and democratic principles. ICU has 3,000 students and 150 full-time professors/instructors from Japan and overseas. The university is located on a wooded campus in the suburbs of Tokyo.
ICUfs Department of Society, Culture, and Media is pleased to announce a search for a full-time faculty position in the sociology of gender. The successful applicant is expected to teach the sociology of gender, an additional substantive area of sociology, research methods, introductory sociology, and a general education course. Some of these courses are to be offered in the graduate school. We are especially interested in candidates with an ability to teach quantitative methods. The candidate is expected to have an active research agenda in the field of sociology of gender.

Qualifications

1. Ph.D. in Sociology
2. Language of instruction: English (The ability to supervise senior theses written in Japanese is desired)
3. Personal commitment to the Universityfs Christian mission

Selection process After documentary screening, shortlisted candidates will be expected to give a lecture in English as part of the interview process.
