POSITION IN LINGUISTICS IN TOKYO

The Division of Languages at International Christian University (ICU) announces a tenure-track opening at the assistant, associate or full professor level in the field of linguistics. 

The candidate must have an interest in teaching and supervising an European language (Spanish preferred) as well as teaching linguistics.

The starting date is April 1 (September 1), 2005, for an initial three-year contract. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate should be willing to take on administrative responsibilities in coordinating the Division’s Elective Languages and university-wide committee work.

Requirements: Doctorate in hand in Linguistics, publications and evidence of scholarly potential, native or near-native command of English. Knowledge of Japanese, teaching experience at the university-level, and capability to contribute to Spanish language courses preferred.  International experience, administrative experience and interests desirable. ICU requires all of its full-time faculty members to possess a strong commitment to Christianity.
