| Final Evaluation of the Program by the JSPS
On December 17, 2008, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science announced the Final Evaluations of 21st Century COE Projects accepted in 2003. Programs were rated on a four-point scale, and of the 130 COE Projects evaluated, 60 including ICU received the top rating, "Goals were fully met."
It is especially notable that among the 25 projects in the Interdisciplinary, Combined Disciplines and New Fields area, the JSPS gave only 6 projects the top rating, of which ICU was one.
We would like to thank all researchers and staff members who worked with the ICU COE Program. ICU is committed to further build on the foudations laid down through the Project, and we hope to work with many of you again in the future.
